Abia PDP son Orji’s not a cultist

Chairman of PDP in the state, Senator Emma Nwaka who made the denial Thursday at a news briefing in Umuahia, dismissed the media report as the handiwork of  political foes of the first family bent on dis- reputing the governor’s son.

He said, “for the   benefit of doubt, the governor’s son is still very much in the race for Umuahia Central State constituency, adding that, the clearance certificate issued to him has not been withdrawn.”

Nwaka said no petition was filed against the governor’s son before the PDP Screening Appeal panel, dismissing the media report as a ruse and outright falsehood.

Similarly, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Anthony Agbazuere, described as false the allegation that the governor’s son was a cultist.

He warned politicians against making fictitious and malicious allegations against perceived opponents just for selfish interests.

On the number of governorship aspirants still in the race, Nwaka said only eight presented themselves for clearance in Enugu, and were all cleared.

He gave their names as Dr. Uche Ogah, Chief Okezie Orji, Acho Nwakamma, Mark Wabara, Okey Emuchay , Okezie Ikpeazu, Friday Nwosu, and Emeka Wogu.

The PDP Chairman said Dr. Greg Ibe who had earlier purchased the expression of interest form later withdrew  from the governorship race citing zoning as reason for his action.

He also added that Senator Nkechi Nwaogu did not present herself for screening.
Asked whether the party would still insist on ‘Option A4 ‘ for its primaries as it earlier declared, Nwaka said ” we have been over ruled by Abuja”, adding that whatever option the team from Abuja that will conduct the exercise directs, will prevail.
